Mars Nation provides a framework for global collaboration and fundraising - governed by the community. Think of Mars Nation as an incentivized global signature collection for a sovereign and internationally recognized nation on planet Mars.

Selling virtual land
To fund the initial platform, Mars Nation is selling land lots on the virtual planet Mars. With your help, the community will work on the vision of enforcing the property rights and thereby merging the virtual Mars with the real planet.
The framework
Mars Nation provides the collaboration framework to govern the nation and a marketplace where land lots can be discovered and traded. To advance the nation’s vision, the income is reinvested in space projects approved by its citizens.
Ensuring equal access
Our economic and incentive scheme, called Harberger taxation, ensures equal access to land for all while raising funds to build the necessary infrastructure.

Roadmap
We are in it for the very, very long run. But every great endeavour starts with a first step. The core platform will lay the foundation to fund space projects proposed by the community. These projects will strengthen the movement and together we work towards becoming a sovereign nation.

We will build an open source mosaic of unprecedented resolution using CTX imagery and computer vision, image processing, and photogrammetry algorithms.
